Free legal service JobWatch extends its hours

Jobwatch, the Victorian information service that offers free legal help to disadvantaged workers on employment matters, will soon take calls on Wednesday nights.

The organisation will launch its extended operating hours from 6 April to 5 October, fielding enquiries until 8.30pm, as part of a pilot.

You can call JobWatch on 9662 1933 or 1800 331 617 (country residents).

As an example of the types of matters dealt with by JobWatch, the organisation recently acted on behalf of a client on an unfair dismissal claim, as a result of which the woman was awarded $27,500 (6 months wages as compensation) by the Fair Work Commission.

JobWatch is a confidential independent not-for-profit.
