Supporting your local community
It is important to us that we repay the trust and responsibility that local people give us when they turn to us for help.
As people who live locally and have often grown up here, we understand local views and concerns. We also take seriously our obligation to contribute something back to local communities.
Stringer Clark members of staff are encouraged to offer their time and effort to local community and sporting groups. They are also urged to get involved in local causes. Volunteering is encouraged as part of developing our staff and fostering our values of care and respect.
The company also supports many local groups financially, through grants and sponsorships.
Case study – meet our future lawyers
Stringer Clark lawyers legal mentoring at Emmanuel College
We appreciate how important it was in our careers to have had help and inspiration of others around us. Often the most influential people in our lives are those who open our minds to the potential that we can't always clearly see.
It was with this in mind that lawyers at Stringer Clark were keen to play a role in fostering the education of our future legal leaders. In cooperation with Emmanuel College, our lawyers meet regularly throughout the year with year 11 and 12 students undertaking legal studies.
The majority of the lawyers involved in the program are themselves ex-students of Emmanuel College and are only to happy to be re-acquainted with their old school.
The program is designed to afford students a behind-the-scenes insight into how a professional law firm operates and to introduce them to the ins and outs of the court system. The students are able to meet with our lawyers informally and are encouraged to ask questions about the law and what it is like to be a lawyer.
While this is a new scheme, we hope it will grown in future and continue to strengthen ties between the college and our firm.
