Susan Hodgman is a compassionate lawyer and advocate for survivors of institutional child abuse and personal injury. She is committed to representing vulnerable clients seeking compensation for psychological and physical injuries. She enjoys working closely with clients through every part of the process.
Susan began her legal career and was admitted to legal practice in 2017, following a Bachelor of Laws/Arts (French major) at Monash University in 2016 and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at the College of Law in 2017.
Prior to joining Ryan Carlisle Thomas, Susan previously worked in Institutional Child Abuse Law and Family Law. She continues to extend her skillset in assisting clients with Workers’ compensation, WorkCover claims, Road Injury, transport accident (TAC) claims and injury in public places.
Susan also enjoyed extending her legal expertise to working in education policy with the Victorian Government in 2019. This involved empowering education leaders on ways to improve numeracy and literacy across regional Victoria which was both a diverse and rewarding role.
Making a positive difference in the lives of all her clients is what drives Susan’s working life. She experienced great satisfaction helping survivors while working as a volunteer lawyer in the Sexual Assault clinic at the South-East Monash Legal Service (formerly Springvale Monash Legal Service) from 2018-2020.
Susan works closely with clients mostly in Dandenong and across Melbourne, and she is also fluent in French.
Outside of work, Susan is an avid sports fan who enjoys playing tennis and netball.
